This year we have come up with a new idea for learning how to sew pillowcases. The idea is called Production Line Learning, and it is a better way to teach how to make something to a large group or class. We use it for making pillowcases but it can be used for anything. It breaks the process down into steps. Each step has its own station and instructors, and a few people at a time move through the stations. This way the instructors only have to focus on one step of the process and the people at their station. We are also making instructional videos. We are doing this with the Conkerr Cancer chapter in Dayton. ConKerr’s website is http://www.conkerrcancer.org, and the Dayton area’s section is https://www.conkerrcancer.org/chapters/dayton Their instructions for pillowcases are here:http://www.conkerrcancer.org/files/hot_dog_instructions-update_01_23_14.pdf If you are interested in donating pillowcases or fabric, contact the Dayton coordinator at PillowcasesDayton@gmail.com
